Resolution Retreats are held at Ridge Country Retreat in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. We are tucked away from temptation in the ultimate in privacy and seclusion – perched high in the hills behind beautiful Mount Maunganui, looking down the valley to the Pacific Ocean, amongst 35 acres of native New Zealand bush.

Architecturally designed to make the most of the surrounding majestic scenery, there are five beautiful lodge suites inspired by New Zealand native trees, and five private executive villas. Each stunningly presented space features King-size beds (excl. twin share) with the highest quality linen and ensuites with heated floors, shower, and a deep, freestanding bath or Jacuzzi.

The Retreat’s unique geothermal spring provides naturally heated mineral water to the pool overlooking the beautiful view and to the outdoor baths. The geothermal water works wonders on sore or aching muscles and joints. Take a blissful spa or bath outdoors, under the stars and let all your worries melt away.

The Retreat gets its drinking water from an underground spring, leaving it fresh, and free from chemicals, contributing to the natural detoxification process which you will experience on our retreats.

Bush walks close to the property will take you to exotic waterfalls, or simply amongst the beautiful gardens. A hill-top golf course is just three minutes up the road by car.

A beauty therapy clinic is on-site for pampering and treatments by appointment with a much sought-after local beauty therapist.

In the evenings, take a load off with a good book in front of the open fireplace, watch a movie with the group in the theatre room, or retreat back to your room to paint your toenails during some quiet time to yourself.

While you may feel like you’re miles from anywhere, the retreat is only 20 minutes drive from Mount Maunganui, central Tauranga and Tauranga Airport, 2.5 hours drive from Auckland, and only a 4-hour flight from Australia (via Auckland).

Overall Experience

I attended a 10 day Intensive Weight Loss Retreat at Resolution Retreats last month. It is now sited at Lake Karapiro in the Waikato on several hectares with a beautiful garden. I highly recommend this retreat. It was fabulous. The staff who multi task at everything and are highly trained were very professional, friendly, informative and caring. It was a wonderful experience and for me life changing. I have come home armed with lots of new skills and am already leading a much healthier happier life. My sleep has improved a lot. I have come off sleep medication and blood pressure medication. My blood pressure is now normal. I have lot weight and continue to lose it. I feel fitter, more energetic and happier. The Chalets are luxurious and spacious and very comfortable and quiet. You can either share or have one to yourself. The day spa offers an excellent range of therapies. The exercise programme, nutrition lectures and meals and food planning are all great. It is not surprising that this retreat is winning awards. It is very good indeed and Jo who runs it is terrific. There were 17 other women on the Retreat and we all got on reallly well, it was not just about weight loss but about Women’s Health issues and wellness in general. It was great!

The 10 day retreat has changed my life for the better. I have taken a good look at my diet and my exercise and have been able to identify where changes can be made.
