Description of the Retreat

If you are looking for an authentic yoga program with experienced yoga teachers that have been in the industry for many years,
we are your school.

The Yoga MAT 200 hour teacher training program has been designed to comply
with The Yoga Alliance 200 Hour RYS (Registered Yoga School) Standards
and to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

​Whether you are planning to start a new career as a Yoga Teacher or for personal interest
and expansion of your yoga knowledge and practice, our teacher training program will give you
a firm foundation to teach safely and with confidence.
We cover a variety of yoga styles during the program, led by experienced Yoga masters from the Field.
Immerse yourself in yogic philosophy and history, anatomy and physiology, asana, pranayama,
healthy living, developing a home practice, ethics, chakras, mantras, meditation,
teaching methodology and practicum through hands-on instruction,
independent study, reading and assignments.
The Yoga Teacher Training Program is based on the 8 Limbed Yogic Path, the primary resource
of our Teacher Training Program. Our certified, experienced faculty, guarantee that you
will be challenged and fulfilled, by the material and practice, offered in this course.
​Yoga is a lifelong study and practice.
To study and teach yoga is to learn about the self.
We know that our students as faithful, dedicated yogis will give and share,
as much as receive from this experience.
Each student brings a wealth of life experience and unique gifts and
we look forward to this amazing learning process and exchange of ideas.

Teacher/Teachings

​TANIA WINSTANLEY 500 ERYT was introduced to yoga by her Grandmother when she was 16 years old, she hasn’t left her mat since. Now, a master of Classical Hatha Yoga, Tania leads 200, 300 and 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Programs all over the world.
Tania is a 500 E-RYT, based in Canada. Tania has been leading Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin, Kundalini, Restorative and Vinyasa Yoga classes for 18 years. She is known for her powerful practice and engaging teaching style. Tania began focusing on Teacher Training in 2010 and has lead over 30 very successful Yoga Teacher Training Programs. Tania’s yoga teachings are authentically based on The Eight Limb Path of Sri Patanjali. Her style is deeply practical and inspiring. In yoga teacher training, Tania challenges her students, to push through perceived limitations, encouraging them to become able, prepared, confident members of our global yoga teaching community.

​RAM VAKKALANKA 500 ERYT was born and brought up in India, steeped in the Yogic tradition. He studied Sanskrit, Yoga philosophy and Nada Yoga from a very young age and imbibed the essence of Yoga. Ram's breadth and depth of knowledge of Yogic philosophy and Vedic sciences such as Ayurveda and Vedic astrology are considered extra-ordinary and he is described as 'a blessing to the global Yoga community'. His works have been published in print as well as on-line. His talks have been broadcast on Radio as well as TV. So far, 20 CDs, one DVD as well as an online video course about the origin and evolution of Yoga have been created by Ram. Ram travels all over the world sharing his deep wisdom with relevancy and humor through Retreats, workshops, talks as well as one-on-one sessions. Practical Information

Through demonstration, lecture and hands on, active participation we will explore:
Asana/Body Postures:
The detailed study of Asana (Postures), Alignment, Grounding, Awareness, Modifications, Contraindications, Use of Props, Mudras (Hand Gestures), Bandhas (Energy Seals), Drishti (Focal Points), Adjustments, Enhancements, Modifications, Corrections, Variations and more. Pranayama/Breathing Techniques:
Learn to direct, enhance and build life force. Study Energy Locks and Channels, Bandahs and Nadis.
We cover 8 specific breathing techniques during our 200 Hour Program.
Meditation and Mantra Yoga:
Finding peace through meditation helps us learn how to help guide others to focus and quiet the mind. Various meditation styles and techniques will be covered during the program. Mantra Yoga: the yoga of sound. 6 Specific Mantras/Chants will be learned
during the course of the program – CD provided.
Anatomy and Physiology:
Human Anatomy and Physiology, Body Planes, Body Alignment, Body Systems, The Spine, Injures, Disease, Physical Effects of Yoga, both benefits and risks, Anatomy and Physiology Application in Asana.
The fascia & muscle/skeletal systems are a main focus of study.
The energy bodies: Chakras, Nadis, & Ayurveda will also be covered in Anatomy and Physiology.
Yogic History and Philosophy:
The 8 Limb Path of Yoga and Yoga Sutras are the primary source of study. Influential Yogis, Sanskrit, Ancient Yogic Texts and the evolution of yoga from Pre-classical to Modern day yoga will be explored.
Required reading: Bhagavad Gita
Teaching Practicum and Methodology;
Class Creation, Class Sequencing, Adjusting, Aligning, Demonstrating, Cueing, Guiding, Reading your class, Ethics of a Yoga teacher, Enhancements, Modifications, Corrections and Variations. Language, Sanskrit, Instructing Various Levels, Groups,
Special Health Needs, Injuries, Benefits, Trauma Sensitivity Yoga.
