Description of the Retreat

ESCAPE INTO THE WILD WITH ME FOR A LAID-BACK CAMPING WEEKEND AT THE MAGICAL OFF-GRID CAMPSITE, BADGELLS WOOD FOR COMMUNITY, CONNECTION, WELL-BEING AND THAT NOURISHING GET-BACK-TO-NATURE VIBE.

A self-catered weekend of camping, forest bathing, meditation, Qi Gong and lots of laughter and connection gathered around the campfire.

2 night Wellbeing Weekend with Camping pitch & parking

(Some food & beverage included. Main meals are self-catered. Full details below)

This wellbeing weekend is for those who want a more laid-back vibe than a full-blown retreat, but want a weekend that will include wellness activities and give you a sense of escape with time to sink into being to feel recharged and rejuvenated.

BADGELLS WOOD CAMPSITE
Badgells wood campsite is in a stunning woodland location allowing you to camp directly among the trees so that you spend your entire weekend bathed in the atmosphere of the forest. Badgells have always been passionate about creating an off-grid experience, getting people back to the simplicity of life and nourishing environment of Nature.

The campsite has large pitch clearings inside the woodland that hold 3-4 tents each and have their own firepit areas and there is a dedicated campfire circle area where we will meet for the various wellness activities across the weekend.

The campsite also has great, well looked after facilities including toilets, showers, washing up area and small onsite shop.

SO IS IT A RETREAT?

Think of it like a laid-back weekend retreat without the usual high ticket price that often comes with retreats. A weekend that will provide connection, wellbeing and community but also gives you more freedom to chill and please yourself. A perfect weekend to share with friends or an opportunity for some solo time whilst still be able to connect with a community.

WHAT TO EXPECT
An opportunity to escape into Nature for a few days of rest and relaxation.

A wild camp feel being immersed in the woodland.

A chance to dedicate time for yourself for self-care, connection and wellbeing

A beautiful forest bathing session to soothe your nervous system and ignite a sense of wonder.

An uplifting country walk with pub lunch

Meditation, ritual and connection around a campfire.

Plenty of time for yourself to chill by your tent and gaze up at the trees.

Tonnes of fun and laughter with a community of like-hearted people all joining for the shared intention to slow down and experience the joyful simplicity of being in Nature.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Your camping pitch or bell tent.

Parking

All wellbeing activities

Herbal teas, snacks & cake.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED
If you are bringing your own tent you will need to bring all the necessary equipment and bedding required for your equipment (list can be supplied if you are new to camping!)

I would advise bringing your own camping gas ring so you can prepare food and make tea. If you don’t have this they are pretty low cost and I can advise you on what to get.

Food and beverage for your main meals which will be outlined in more detail once you have booked to help you prepare.

The pub lunch will be paid for separately and is optional. You can provide your own lunch if you prefer.

Teacher/Teachings

Tansy Dowman is a Forest Bathing Guide and outdoor Life Coach with training in meditation and Qi Gong and a huge passion for gathering community together in the great outdoors. She has been walking alongside groups and individuals since 2017 supporting them on their journey of well-being and personal growth. Tansy is a laid back and down to earth that's why this weekend offers an easygoing vibe that allows guests a little more freedom instead of the tight structure that is often given on retreats.

Food

To keep costs down this weekend is mainly self-catering so you will cook your own food at your tent and have more freedom to eat and drink what you like, when you like. On Saturday we will walk to the local pub for lunch (optional) and on Saturday evening we will gather together for a communal BBQ where you will bring your own food and contributions.

Some refreshments and snacks will be provided during the wellness sessions such as herbal teas, energy balls and cake.

Practical Information

This is a camping weekend so you would need to supply your own tent and all camping equipment or you can contact me to see if any bell tents are available for a glamping option.

All attendees will be asked to fill out a health and safety form.

No experience is necessary for the wellness activities.

Testimonials

Testimonials:

“Tansy’s experiences are magical. From her forest bathing walks, which I have attended several times, to longer hybrid collaborations with Kingdom wellness, Boho Farm and Alive with flavour, to name but a few, she brings empathy, spirituality and sound knowledge. I have found her forest bathing to be transformative at times and look forward to many more. I found her to be insightful, and during these times have met many other lovely people who all gained as i did from Tansy’s gentle suggestions and deep understanding and love of the natural world and the way we are connected. Fantastic, thank you Tansy”
